An Iranian student robotics team captured the top two places in the Ideas & Inventions category at TEKNOFEST 2025 in Istanbul, competing against 980 projects from 56 countries.
Istanbul: Iran’s school-age robotics squad delivered a standout performance at TEKNOFEST 2025, winning first and second place in the Ideas and Inventions category at the international robotics and AI festival held in Istanbul.
Team supervisor Hadis Mirzania named the winning lineup as Kian Karbalai, Mehrtash Razkardani, Artin Eslambaneh, Seyed Amir Houman Tabatabaei Nejad, Samyar Reza Soltani, Ardin Khanehzadeh, Mohammad Riyavandi, and Mehdi Riyavandi. The group had previously taken first and second at international invention contests in Canada and the United States.
This year’s TEKNOFEST featured 980 projects from 56 countries, including Germany, South Korea, Canada, Uzbekistan, the Netherlands, Uruguay, Russia, Malaysia, the Philippines, India, Taiwan, Mexico, and Iran underscoring the event’s growing profile as a global stage for youth innovation in robotics and artificial intelligence.
