Baqer al-Olum University Agrees with the Cultural Counsellor in Iraq on a Scientific Cooperation Plan

Baqer al-Olum University and Iran’s Cultural Counsellor in Iraq will draft a joint operational plan to launch shared graduate programs and expand academic exchanges between Qom and Iraqi institutions.

Baqer al-Olum University (Qom) has agreed with the Cultural Counsellor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq to draft a joint operational plan that expands sustained academic, cultural, and educational cooperation between the two sides.

During the meeting held as part of a delegation visit by Baqer al-Olum University to Iraq the parties discussed launching admissions for new graduate programs (MA and PhD) and establishing joint master’s degrees in partnership with Jamiat al-Imam Sadiq (AS) in Baghdad and Jamiat al-Imam Kazem (AS) in Kadhimiya.

They also agreed to organize short, targeted courses for Iraqi academic and cultural elites, and to hold joint scholarly forums between the seminaries of Najaf and Qom to deepen scientific exchange.

At an expert-level session, regulations and implementation guidelines for the joint programs were reviewed, including academic bylaws, admissions procedures, and operational timelines.
Both sides emphasized sustained follow-up, the swift execution of agreements, and leveraging complementary capacities to advance their shared academic and cultural goals.
