The National Library and Archives of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in cooperation with the Library, Museum, and Documentation Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, will host the 17th National Ceremony Honoring Manuscript Patrons this February under the theme “Yesterday’s Heritage, Today’s Thought.”
Following a multi-year hiatus, the event aims to recognize and celebrate outstanding contributions in the fields of codicology, textual criticism, manuscript cataloging, and related academic and cultural efforts.
A public call has been issued inviting scholars, universities, publishers, and cultural institutions to submit their works published or completed between 2018 and 2023. Submissions are due by September 21, 2025, via the official website: www.hamiankhati.ir, by email at [email protected], or through the Secretariat’s phone number: +98 21 8162 2793.
Event categories include outstanding efforts in manuscript promotion, such as policy-making, valuation, restoration, digitization, private collection donations, scholarly publications, and education. It also honors achievements in editing historical, literary, scientific, and religious texts, and book design aesthetics.
In addition, the ceremony highlights media and creative contributions radio and TV programs, podcasts, websites, stories, screenplays, and documentaries that explore the legacy and significance of manuscript culture.
