General description of the university

Isfahan University of Technology was established as one of Iran’s higher education centers in 1974, located in the country’s largest industrial hub, 20 kilometers west of Isfahan, on a land of 23 million square meters.

This university started its educational activities in 1977 by accepting about 800 students in some technical, engineering and agricultural fields and now, after more than 35 years since the beginning of educational activities, this university with 14 faculties, 8 research institutes and 25 scientific-research centers is considered one of the important academic centers of Iran, which is in the industrial heart of Iran and in the vicinity of important centers such as the iron and steel smelting factory and related industries, as well as important nuclear centers of the country. At the moment, more than 10,000 students are studying in this university.
