General description of the university
Islamic Azad University of Isfahan branch (Khorasgan) is located in the eastern part of Isfahan city and in the historical and cosmopolitan area of Khorasgan. The establishment of Isfahan Islamic Azad University was approved by the board of trustees of Islamic Azad University on November 3rd, 1986. This academic unit started to work on the second of February of the same year by admitting 510 students in four fields of study, and now with a comprehensive degree, it has 32,000 students in 280 fields of study in the form of 10 approved faculties, 380 full-time faculty members and hundreds of visiting professors that they are engaged in teaching and educational and research activities and more than 100 thousand people have graduated from this university. Islamic Azad University of Isfahan branch is among the most successful universities in the country in the field of research and technology and is known as a successful academic center in the field of transforming science into technology and the activities of knowledge enterprise in the country. The existence of 2 independent growth centers, the activity of 7 important research centers in the fields of agriculture, biochemistry, livestock, genetics, dentistry, soil, etc., the activity of 7 knowledge enterprise with the permission of the Vice President for Science and Technology, and the establishment of 47 units and technology cores, are the other honors of this university.

This university has a dining hall for women and men, an open-air restaurant that is separately “Zeytoon for women” and “Tin for men”, cafeteria and student buffets, including; The cafeteria of the Faculty of Agriculture, Educational Sciences, 15 Khordad cafeteria, Zeytoon cafeteria. The dormitory of Isfahan Islamic Azad University (Khorasgan) for women is built in the inner campus of the university with an area of 2651 square meters on four floors and its permanent accommodation capacity is about 500 people, including guest rooms (mostly at the disposal of master’s and PhD students who have one or two days of the week they must be present at the university). Its total capacity is 600 people. Many libraries and study rooms are also located in this university. Active sports for the students of the university include football, futsal, volleyball, basketball, handball, table tennis, wrestling, karate, taekwondo, wushu, chess and general sports. This university has sports facilities with an area of 25,246 square meters, including a large sports hall, gymnasiums, martial arts, wrestling, table tennis and gymnastics, a football field and a track and field, and five open multi-purpose fields. It also has a counseling center and psychological services.
