Shiraz University reports 55 faculty members in Elsevier’s 2025 Top 2% Most-Cited list (Scopus-based), spanning career-long and single-year impact across 22 fields and 174 subfields.
Shiraz: Shiraz University announced that 55 of its faculty members have been listed among the top 2% most-cited researchers worldwide for 2025, according to Elsevier’s annual citation report based on the Scopus database.
The university noted that 36 scholars were recognized for their career-long citation impact, while 43 scholars were included for their single-year (2025) impact. The honorees represent a wide range of disciplines, including chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, materials science, mechanical engineering, power and control engineering, water and environmental engineering, geology, veterinary surgery, food science and engineering, energy engineering, economics, mathematics, and public health, among others.
Elsevier’s assessment uses composite citation indicators such as the H-index, total citations, and a combined score calculated with and without self-citations. Eligibility requires at least five Scopus-indexed publications. Rankings are reported across 22 broad fields and 174 subfields, with global standing determined by a composite score excluding self-citations.
University officials said the results underscore Shiraz University’s expanding research footprint and multidisciplinary strengths, reinforcing its presence on the global scientific impact map.
