Babol Noshirvani University of Technology

General description of the university

Babol Noshirvani University of Technology is the only public university of technology in Mazandaran province and northern Iran. This university has six faculties, 200 faculty members and about 6 thousand students. It was established in 1348 by Seyyed Hossein Fallah Noshirvani by donating sixteen hectares of land and eleven thousand square meters of educational space and this university started to accept students under the name of Noshirvani Technical Faculty of Mazandaran University in 1973. In 1992, Noshirvani Technical and Engineering Faculty of Mazandaran University, as the only technical and engineering faculty in Mazandaran province, accepted students in civil, electrical, chemical and mechanical engineering undergraduate courses and in master’s and PhD degrees; and in 2004, it became Noshirvani Higher Education Complex. This complex has been known as an industrial university in the north of Iran since 2007.

Academic calendar

This university has two admissions per year, in October (Mehr) is the first semester and in February (Bahman) is the second semester.

Persian language course

According to the research conducted, there is no Persian language course taught in this university, but a memorandum of understanding has been signed between Babol Noshirvani University and the Persian Language Center of Mazandaran University in order to hold a training course for non-Iranian students.

University services

The university has a dormitory complex for women and men. The dormitories have a gym, a ping pong hall, a football and volleyball field, a room equipped with a washing machine and a buffet. There are two buffets in the university campus (for girls and boys). The self-service restaurant of the university has food that can be reserved on all days of the week, except for Fridays, and for each lunch or dinner there are two types of food that students can reserve according to their taste. In the health and treatment center of the university, there is a general practitioner and a dentist’s office, and a number of psychologists also serve the students
