General description of the university

Allameh Tabataba’i University is an Islamic Revolution born university, while its foundation and roots are 60 years old. After the Islamic revolution, based on the high position of humanities and the need to create a specialized university in the field of humanities and social sciences in the country, from the combination of independent higher education centers with the titles of university, faculty, research institute, higher school, higher education, institute, center and organization, which were gradually established since 1958, 2 academic complexes were formed with the titles of the academic complex of literature and humanities and the academic complex of administrative and commercial sciences. Each of these complexes operated under independent management for more than 5 years and on July 16, 1984, based on the approval of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, Allameh Tabataba’i University was established from their merger.

Currently, Allameh Tabataba’i University is the largest specialized humanities university in the country and as a leading university in achieving growth and development and knowledge in the field of humanities and social sciences in the country, thanks to benefiting from the capabilities and valuable competencies of its faculty members and researchers, the source of services It has been valuable to society. Many outstanding scientific, political, and executive figures and lasting figures and founders of various human and social sciences have been graduates of this university.

Academic calendar
